Perodua Bezza Advance - Car Battery Replacement

Perodua Bezza first service - free inspection

My Perodua Bezza Advance was due for it's first service, so I had to drive to the service center. Made an appointment the day before. It was a good experience at the service center, as the staffs were friendly and efficient. Wait time for the free inspection was slightly under an hour and the car was ready.

The staff recommended a battery terminal protector and windshield washer, it didn't cost much so I just ahead with it. Since I was at the service center, I bought a bottle of radiator coolant as well so that I can mix and top up the coolant at home. A bottle of radiator coolant(0.5L) for the Perodua Bezza cost RM13.90.

I was told the next service which requires engine oil change will cost about RM190. Somehow they recommended an auto transmission fluid change on the 10000km mileage as well. The total bill will be RM290 if I agree to ATF change. Labor charge is free for the first three service.

Recommended engine oil for Perodua Bezza 1.3 Advance is fully synthetic 0-20W grade, 4-litre bottle.

    1. Hello farah aman, I sent the car to one of the Perodua Service Centre in Kota Kinabalu. You don't have to pay anything on the first service inspection ( 3 months or 5000 km, whichever comes first ). The Perodua rep might suggest putting in windshield washer in your tank or getting a battery protector, if you agree to that, then you'll need to pay some money.

That second photo I posted up, is just a suggestion(from the Perodua rep) of what should I do in my next service(10000km mileage). The gear oil and windshield washer isn't necessary actually. It's too soon for a gear oil(ATF) change at 10k km. It shouldn't cost more than RM200 for your second service.

  6. Hmm... my friend serviced her car for 180 for first service, wonder whether it's right for Perodua to charge since you mentioned above that its free for the first service. Thanks

    1. Usually the advisors there will 'push' things to replace/sell although it is unnecessary. Your friend might have agreed to it before they start work on the car. Check the invoice and see what items are in the list.

  8. I would just get a bottle of pre-mix coolant from Perodua. Topup when it goes below the indicator.

It's best to use some kind of wiper fluid. Calcium deposits can form in the long term if you use 100% water; white color deposits coming out of the windshield spray nozzle. What I would do is just go ahead with the RM1.90 windshield washer fluid each service. Then just topup with water until the next service. Don't leave the tank completely empty when you fill.

    2. You can buy pre-mix coolant from Perodua, that means you can just top-up directly from the bottle.

Perodua Bezza - Headlight Bulbs

The Perodua Bezza's headlight uses a H11 55W bulb for it's low beam and a HB3 60W bulb for it's high beam. It is always a good idea to use the specified wattage rating bulbs if you are going to fit aftermarket bulbs. The fog lights on the Perodua Bezza uses the same H11 55W bulb. Price range for the H11 and HB3 seems to be on the high side compared to a H4 or H7 for example

Perodua Bezza Smart entry key - Battery Replacement

If you need to press the smart entry button for a few times to unlock or lock your car door, there is a good chance that the smart entry key battery is weak. I just replaced mine yesterday and the  smart key is as responsive when I got it new. Use a flat-head  screwdriver and position it in the little notch and pry open the cover. Perodua Bezza Advance - Car Battery Replacement

Replaced the Start-Stop battery at a Perodua Service centre some months back. I couldn't find time to write and post this, better late than never I guess. This Start-Stop battery for the Perodua Bezza Advance is on the high side for a budget car. It cost about RM450 which is double the price of normal car batteries. Any third party M42 equivalent battery is definitely cheaper than this. For example, Varta, Hankook, GS Yuasa sold by others. Here are some found on Shopee https://shopee.com.my/search?keyword=m42%20battery . It's probably a good idea to buy and install it at the shop. My Perodua Bezza Advance car battery lasted about 2 years and 5 months. Considering that the car is in the city with heavy traffic all the time, it's not too bad. Eco-idle mode was always in use for the first 6 months. Some signs that the battery is giving up are: 1. Noticeable dimming of the headlights(all the time) when the aircond compressor comes on. 2. Headunit doesn't turn o...
